Dominated by the mountain range « Les 3 Becs », the gateway to Diois, the country of Saillans is situated at the heart of the Drôme Valley. Its a varied countryside both apline and mediterranean, made up of forest, mountains and valleys.

The principal activities of the territory are viticulture and tourism. The high number of caves will guide you to the center of the Clairette de Die vine-growing (AOC zone). It’s also the country of the famous Picodon, “Croquant” biscuits, honey & Ravioles.

For Nature lovers and sportsmen, Saillans is the starting point for lots of new activities : swimming, fishing, river sports (canoe-kayak, rafting, aquatique hiking), hill walking, VTT, cycling, rock climbing, hang gliding, gliders.

Old Villages with their picturesque alleys and fountains, isolated chapels which we can admire from the hill walk paths, a museum of the silk trade to remind us that here in days gone by silk warms were bred to create this precious thread.

Attached to the traditions, to the quality of life (biovallée), providing  a warm welcome and hospitality, the country of Saillans has developed a family tourism that you’re invited to discover.

Visit the village of Saillans and its foutains

Old narrow alleys, arcades, fountains, are the treasures which are waiting for you in the historical village of Saillans. Discover some of the beautiful Romans remnants: Pediment and milliares at the church and the town hall.

The classified St Géraud church is from the XI century. The municipal council room possesses decoration and furniture which is also classified. The walk along the old canal takes you down to the Drôme.

Clairette Museum in Vercheny

Created in 1993, the Clairette museum will show you behind the scenes of the vine-growing and their traditions still used.

At the high village of Vercheny, a pedagogic viticole path will guide you to discover the differents step of the vine-growing.
